English Bods is built on a running joke: every quintessentially English thing here turns out to have come from somewhere else. The Cerne Abbas Giant is probably a Greek Hercules chalked into a Dorset hillside; Sorry It's Not An XL Bully Either traces the bulldog back to an ancient Greek war-dog; It Doesn't Always Rain is the umbrella, brought back from Persia by a man who got pelted with rubbish for using one in London. Two of you build each shape while the footnote quietly dismantles a bit of national mythology underneath it. It's the pack for anyone who enjoys being smug at a pub quiz, a family who likes their history with a twist, or a teacher trying to make a lesson stick without anyone noticing they're learning. Auntie Zeffie delivers each fact with the flat delight of someone who's been waiting 244 years to say 'actually.' Sixteen shapes, eight dealt a round, and every one comes with a footnote worth repeating at dinner.

How it works

  1. The card flips.
  2. You've got 10 seconds for the two of you to work out who's what and make the shape together.
  3. Bods! The camera catches it, Auntie Zeffie scores it and judges you.
  4. Share the result, or don't.
